THE SUPPLY & INSTALLATION PROCESS
Once you have provided us with some basic details, such as measurements and images, we will then be able to give you an idea of cost, what we propose to do, along with some choices of stoves, hearths and beams.
Choosing the Correct Stove
The stove heat output is based on the dimensions of the room it’s going in. We then need to consider the physical size that fits with the correct clearance requirements. This is a process we carry out for you during the consultation. Then, it’s up to you to find a stove that’s aesthetically pleasing.
Once you have sent some details over to us, we would then give you a call, at a convenient time, to discuss further. That’s when we’ll be able to reply to you with an idea of cost and what we propose to do for you.
Initial Consultation, Assessment and Agreement
If you feel that you would like to progress past this point, we would then arrange a site visit. This is more of a viability check to see if the installation can be done. We will carry out an inspection of the chimney and access amongst other things. From here, we would then look at some dates that are convenient for us both to get the installation started. Installations are typically booked 3 to 4 weeks prior to commencing the works required.
We will need to order your stove, hearth, beam, pipe-work, etc., so a 50% deposit will be required at this stage.
Before we Arrive at your Property
The works required can get quite dusty, so we ask you to remove as much as possible from the room where the stove will be installed. Any large items, such as furniture, TV, etc. we will wrap in a plastic cover. We will also cover your floors in sheeting. As most installation preparation takes two days or more, we ask you to leave the covers and sheets in place, until this stage is complete.
The total length of preparation can vary dependent on the amount of work that needs to be done. Typically, you’ll be looking at two to seven days before the stove goes in. We will discuss this with you following our inspection and understanding of requirements.
Once the Job is Complete
At this stage, we have an obligation to do a 'handover', which involves guiding you through using the stove, the best types of fuels to use, and how to maintain your stove for best operation.
We also have a legal obligation to supply and fit a carbon monoxide detector for your safety and peace of mind.
Then the Magic Happens!
You get to enjoy the nice, mesmerising flickering flame of the stove, and the best heat money can buy.
This is the part I absolutely love about my job. I’ve never installed a woodburning stove where the customer doesn’t gush about how much they love it (me included!).
I think our Google testimonials and recommendations echo this sentiment. I look forward to hearing from you.
